Decker Lake Improvements

About

Decker Lake is a space within West Valley City that offers residents living in an urban space an opportunity to connect with nature without travelling too far. The Active People, Healthy Utah grant is working with the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Department to support several improvements around the trail.

Additional Seating

The Active People, Healthy Utah grant will fund additional benches along the trail.

Enjoy a seat while checking out the many birds that fly through this space and enjoy the sound of the water!

Nature Signs

Through a supplementary grant from Nature and Human Health Utah, signs will be placed at the two main entrances of the lake and around the trail to provide information to visitors about Decker Lake, its history, nature, and connection to health.

Wayfinding Signs

Additional signs will be placed around the lake to help visitors understand the connection of the Decker Lake Trail loop to other trails in the city, along with information on trail distances.

Trashcans and Pet Waste Stations

We hope to encourage visitors to keep the space clean by funding additional trashcans and pet waste stations around the trail.
